Tom Early was born in Los Angeles in 1965, and when he was a year old his family moved to Newport Beach, California where he spent his formative years. The carefree and optimistic beach culture of the 70's there influenced his view of the world, and his work. At 21 Tom moved to Pasadena to attended Art Center College of Design, where he graduated in 1989 with a BFA in illustration. At Art Center Tom influenced by 50's art stars Bob Peak, Mary Blair, Phil Hays, as well as abstract painters Joan Mitchell, Clifford Still, and Willem De Kooning. Add in some proven classical artists - Frans Hals, Diego Velazquez and John Singer Sargent - and you get the root of what Tom is going after in his work: to get the most with the least and work fast.
Upon graduation Tom Freelanced as a magazine illustrator and began working at Disneyland in the Entertainment Art Department, designing floats and banners for the park. This led to art department work in Movies and television. In 1991 Tom was hired by NBC to be Art Director on the popular soap opera, "Days of Our Lives,” earning two daytime Emmys.
Tom today divides his time between Pasadena and Palm Springs, and is committed to keep his Art going.
