Sorin Bica is a contemporary artist based in the Boston area, frequently sought for his unique large-scale abstract and figurative paintings. The use of intense color and expressive figures are seen throughout his work on all sizes of canvases as well as on street murals.
Born in Bucharest, Romania, Sorin studied at Scoala Populara de Arta and began his career drawing political cartoons in his native country. Sorin moved to the United States in 1988, where he studied art at Worcester State University. He continued to combine the cartoonish drawings with his painting, which developed into his present style.
Sorin’s work can be found in many public, private and corporate collections both in the United States and abroad. He is an artist resident at SOWA artist Studios in Boston and Saxonville Studios in Framingham, MA.
Sorin has been featured in many publications, including Artscope Magazine, The Metrowest Daily News, The Hopkinton Independent and the Boston Globe.
