For Scott Bowe, painting is storytelling. The stories Scott tells are bold, kinetic, and colorful. His work has an almost musical quality to it, where the rhythms of the colors move and swirl like notes played from a guitar. It’s in the depth of Scott’s unexpected compositions that he conveys his narrative of the human experience.
Born in Fairfield County, Connecticut, Scott’s family relocated to Maine in his early teens, and he attended Waynflete School. After graduation he circumnavigated the globe, visited nine countries, and discovered his passion for art and artists in Venezuela, Brazil, South Africa, Kenya, India, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Japan. After these travels and college, Scott moved to California to pursue a career as an actor.
Scott began painting in Los Angeles, then moved back to Maine where he has developed his fluid, expressionistic style. At home in Maine, he has kindled his desire to create art that is inspired by the color and movement of the ever-changing Maine land and seascape.
