Born in Brooklyn, New York, Gerald’s family moved to California when Gerald was a young boy. As a teenager Gerald began painting with oils and immediately fell in love with the medium and has never stopped exploring what to him are it’s wonders. After completing high school and five years at the renowned Art Center Collage of Design, Gerald landed a job as Assistant Art Director for a fashion magazine, designed books, and was a freelance illustrator, photographer, and ad-man; all the while continuing his painting practice.
Gerald has extensively explored styles from traditional to abstract to photorealism, all of which have informed his personal contemporary-realist style. Gerald’s work can be found museums in the U.S. and Mexico and is part of the permanent collection at Laguna Beach Festival of the Arts and the University of New Mexico.
